Auditions - Be Part of Our New Season!

By: MBE

Lovers of Jewish choral singing are encouraged to be part of the music by joining one of our outstanding ensembles for the coming 2019-2020 season.

Experienced adult singers are invited to audition for membership in the Zamir Chorale.  The flagship ensemble of the Zamir Choral Foundation, the Zamir Chorale has been setting the standard for Jewish choral singing for nearly 60 years.  The Chorale rehearses on Manhattan's Upper West Side on Monday evenings from 8 - 10 p.m. under the direction of Maestro Matthew Lazar.

Young adult singers aged 18 - 30 are invited to join Zamir Noded, which rehearses on Tuesday nights, also on the Upper West Side, and under the director of Matthew Lazar.

The highlight of the Fall season for both of these ensembles will be a performance at Merkin Concert Hall on December 15, 2019.

Teen singers in grades 9 - 12 are encouraged to join HaZamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir.  HaZamir offers a superior musical experience along with the development of leadership skills, Jewish identity and Zionism in a pluralistic and fun environment.  With 41 chapters across the US and Israel, the groups rehearse a common repertoire in weekly rehearsals and periodic regional events.  Members of all 41 chapters will come together for a four-day Festival culminating in a gala concert at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center on Sunday, March 22, 2020.

HaZamir also offers HaZaPrep to teach singers in grades 7 and 8 the musical and Hebrew language skills necessary for potential membership in HaZamir once they reach high school.
