The Zamir Chorale, Zamir Noded and HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir, are ready to welcome new members for the 2015-2016 season
The Zamir Chorale has set the standard for Jewish choral singing in North America since its inception in 1960. Under the direction of Maestro Matthew Lazar, the choir continues to sing a repertoire encompassing 500 years of Jewish choral tradition, including the world premieres of new works commissioned for the ensemble. Rehearsals are held from 8 – 10 p.m. on Monday evenings on the Upper West Side of Manhattan; first meeting of the new season is scheduled for September 21. Experienced choral singers with strong musical skills are encouraged to write to ZamirChorale@ZamirChoralFoundation.org to schedule an audition.
New starting its third season, Zamir Noded offers singers aged 18-30 an opportunity to sing great Jewish choral music in a fun social setting. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, with the opening gathering scheduled for September 8. For more information, write to ZamirNoded@ZamirChoralFoundation.org.
HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir provides hundreds of Jewish teens in grades 8 – 12 with the unique opportunity to sing Jewish choral music, build community and connect to Jewish culture.
