Kelly Shepard Wins Milken Award

By: HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir

Kelly Shepard, Upper School Department Chair of Performing Arts at Milken Community Schools
has been awarded the prestigious Milken Jewish Educators Award.

Kelly is well known as the conductor of HaZamir Los Angeles and as faculty of the North American Jewish Choral Festival. We are so proud to acknowledge Kelly as the recipient of this award.

Kelly is beloved by the many hundreds of HaZamir teens who have sung with him at HaZamir rehearsals and national and international retreats. His colleagues admire and learn from his gifted teaching methods that are filtered with great humor and creativity.  NAJCF attendees also enjoy and benefit from his knowledge and the talent with which he shares it.

Established in 1987, the Milken Educator Awards program rewards and inspires excellence in the world of education by honoring top educators around the country.   Not an accolade for "lifetime achievement" or the proverbial gold watch at the exit door, the Milken Educator Awards target early-to-mid career education professionals for their already impressive achievements and, more significantly, for the promise of what they will accomplish in the future.

We know that Kelly will continue to inspire students of all ages for generations to come.
