The Zamir Choral Foundation will present its 12th annual Hallel V’Zimrah Award to singer-songwriter Flory Jagoda, in recognition of her lifetime of devotion to Ladino music and her efforts to preserve and enhance this unique repertoire. As part of the award ceremony, to be held Wednesday evening, July 15, Flory will perform, accompanied by her daughters and other disciples who are continuing the work that she inherited from her own grandmother. Earlier in the week, Flory’s Flame, a compelling one-hour documentary highlighting the life and career of the nonagenarian Sephardic musician will be screened, and Ladino music will be a continuing theme throughout the weeklong event.
